Psychological Theory Analysis in Catfish

In the TV show Catfish a lot of people show change in their behavior as soon as they are asked to meet up with that person they have been talking to. Throughout each persons experience we are able to see how each one of them all have the same type of behavior in each different episode. They all face unconsciousness at one point which leads them into lying about who they really are and making the other person feel like they know them but in reality they don’t.  In these occasions they are mislead by their unconsciousness having to choose bad decisions that end up hurting those who care. By the start they don’t notice how bad it’s going to affect the person they are lying to because at first everything is going good getting away with everything until the other person notices strange things that a normal person wouldn’t hide. Once they are getting caught in those lies they don’t know how to actually explain why they did that. Being unconscious is really portrayed in this TV show which really shows how it impacts those who tend to be unconscious at one point.

Hate List summary

In my book Hate List there is many conflicts going on at the main characters school. Her name is Valerie and she is going through the disaster that went on in her school. She was dating a guy named Nick and she thought he was the sweetest guy ever and saw nothing bad about him. Her mom and teachers knew he wasn’t good for her but she didn’t care about what others said. He was the type of guy who was popular at school and felt like he could just do anything with no consequences. Val and Nick had both came up with a list of people they both didn’t like but it was their secret. With the time Nick got serious about that list and one day there had been a problem with this girl named Christy messing around with Val and she told Nick. He had said he would handle and he got out of control and shot her a couple days later. Not just her but all the people that were on that list. Val tried to stop it but she was able to and she ended up getting shot too. Many people see her different because of that but they all know she didn’t shoot anybody. She’s facing a lot of hard times at school and this is very similar to the book we are reading in class which is nice to see how many people go through that and grow from it.
